Lithuania: Translators associations in the largest of the three Baltic states

Translators Associations Europe: LituaniaLithuania is situated along the southeastern shore of the Baltic Sea, whereby to the west lie Sweden and Denmark. The republic borders Latvia to the north, Belarus to the east and south, Poland to the south, and a Russian exclave (Kaliningrad Oblast) to the southwest.

Lithuania has 3,5 million inhabitants and its capital and largest city is the beautiful Vilnius.

Inhabited for centuries by various Baltic tribes, in the modern times, Lithuania became the first Soviet republic to declare independence. 

Until a few years ago – prior to the global financial crisis that started in 2007 – this member state of the European Union had one of the fastest growing economies in the European Union.
