Translation Association EuropeHistorically, Austria (alongside Hungary) was one of the two countries which formed one of the greatest empires in history. The country has great tradition in classical music, being Amadeus Mozart its most celebrated personality in that field. Its snowy mountains make it a great location for Winter sports. The Republic of Austria is a landlocked country with over 8 million inhabitants in Central Europe. Its official language is German, even if other idioms are recognised in certain regions.

One of the most important interpreting and translation associations in the country is UNIVERSITAS. Another Austrian translators association is the one that concerns literary and scientific translators, AALST. There is also the translation association concerning certified court interpreters, OVGD.
