Translators Associations: ELIA

ELIA Networking Days returns

ELIA Networking Days 2012 will be held in Madrid, from the 3rd to the 5th May. The follow-up to the very successful event in Athens, in November 2011, will be a great opportunity for translators associations and other language professionals across Europe.

If you’re a member of a translation society or if language is your raw material, Networking Days gives you a chance to mingle with other professionals, network and gather the latest information on translation and translators associations in the old continent. Registration is now open until the 27th April.

Jessica Rathke, who attended last year’s event, stresses the Life Sciences session as the most impressive of the whole set of conferences. She also refers that “the friendly atmosphere and networking potential at the various official and unofficial social events made it easy to make a number of new business contacts”.

Another attendee, this time at Networking Days 2010 in Stockholm, Arancha Caballero, states that “within 2 months after coming from ND Stockholm” her company “started working with 2 new customers thanks to attending.”

The three-day programme includes a keynote address, full-day workshops, and sessions providing informative introductions to topics, products and services less familiar during the thought-provoking sessions.

However, it’s not all about work. Language professionals and members of translation associations will also have the chance to relax and enjoy a tour of Madrid (extra charge) on the last day of the event.
